Despite participating in the Noah's Arc tournament with two key starters missing (Alex Rogers and Marquis Jordan), the Stay In the Game (U15) team was one basket away from making it to the tournament finals. Newcomer's Silas Mills Jr, Jalil Goodwin, Roy Marshall, and Shakil Lea played huge roles in the success of the team. Josh Gee on a bad ankle continues to display why he will be one of the premiere shooter's in the Milwaukee City Conference.
Overall, the SITG U15 team had a good weekend at the Noah's Ark End of Summer Shootout. The team finished with a 3-1 record and took 3rd place in the Sophomore-to-be bracket.

Game Summary: The 15U squad was ready to play in the 1st of four games on the weekend schedule. Fullcourt pressure and great help defense helped SITG jump to an early 8-0 lead. The guard play by Jalil Goodwin, Josh Gee and Demetrius Jackson overwhelmed the Warriors team. Forwards Silas Mills Jr. and Roy Marshall were too much too handle on the inside scoring easy buckets and controlling the glass. SITG was playing very well, running on all cylinders with the high lead of 16 points. Gee, Goodwin and Jackson were the catalyst in the fast break game leading to the easy buckets and three players scoring in double figures. Guards Tre Kinlow and Shakel Lea provided great energy and scored off the bench. Leading scorers in the game were Gee with 14 points, Marshall with 13 points and Mills Jr. with 11 points. |

Game Summary: The 2nd game of the event was early Sunday morning and it showed early on, but after a few minutes into the game SITG was awake. The lead went back and forth against a tough Next Level squad. Forward Silas Mills Jr. scored often in the paint and had double digit rebounds. Again the 15U squad played great help defense throughout the game and competing at a high level. SITG was down by 1 point with 11 seconds remaining when guard Jalil Goodwin went to the rack and hit a 13-footer that proved to be the game winner. Leading scorers in the game were Mills Jr. with 14 points, Goodwin with 8 points and Josh Gee with 7 points. |

Game Summary: This game was a rematch of the previous game and proved to be just as exciting. Both teams came out determined to prove who was the better squad. Unfortunately, a slow start to this game proved to be too much to overcome for the SITG squad. SITG got down early 10-0, but after a timeout out, the team was able to re-group to turn things around to pull the game back within reach. Guard Josh Gee attacked the basket and got his teammates involved and also found his shot early. Gee went to the line several times with his aggressive offensive play. Forwards Silas Mills Jr. and Roy Marshall rebounded well and blocked several shots. The game had several lead changes in the 2nd half and was full of exciting plays. With 7 seconds on the clock Next Level got a steal and scored the game winning lay-up with 0.00 seconds on the clock. Leading scorers in the game were Gee with 13 points and Marshall and guard Jalil Goodwin with 6 points each. |

Game Summary: Despite losing a heartbreaking loss the previous game, the young SITG squad showed a lot of resilency, playing for 3rd place. The SITG squad was a little disappointed not being in the 1st place game, but took care of business in the 4th and final game of the weekend. SITG emotional energy carried over to this game applying a swarming full court press and excellent man-to-man defense. The great defense had SITG up early 11-0. Forwards Silas Mills Jr. and Roy Marshall continued to attack the glass and block shots on defense. Unfortunately, Mills Jr.'s aggressive defense caused him to get into early foul trouble. With Mills relegated to the bench for most of the game, other team members were now forced to step up. The guard play by Demetrius Jackson, Shakel Lea and Josh Gee outmatched the Royals. The highlight of the game was when Marshall got a steal at half court and went upstairs for the one hand tomahawk. The team shared the ball extremely well with three players scoring in double figures. Leading scorers in the game were Marshall with 16 points, Gee with 11 points and Lea with 10 points. |
